Lasnamäe is the district with the largest number of inhabitants and the largest number of Russian-speaking people in Tallinn. The area is known primarily for the hundreds of panel buildings built in the Soviet period, which are built on both sides of the main thoroughfare of traffic in the district - the Lasnamäe canal dug into limestone. Here and there, you can find newer apartment buildings among the panel buildings.
Since it is the city's largest and most densely populated, the rental market is active there. Depending on these characteristics, you can probably rent the cheapest apartment here. Rent prices start at 350 euros, but in newer buildings closer to the city center, for example, 800 euros can be asked for a three-room apartment.
The public transport connection between Lasnamäe and the city center is very good, the city center can be reached by car in a quarter of an hour, but parking a personal car may not be easy everywhere in Lasnamäe.
